The Real Reason You Need a Massage + Grand Opening of Mountainside Spa

When I was a college student, a massage at an honest to goodness spa (scented candles, heated tables, the works!) was the ultimate luxury. As soon as we were married, I let John know that massage gift certificates were welcome on any occasion. It wasn't until I had our second baby that I had an epiphany. Massage was no longer simply a luxury, it was a necessity that I needed to work into our budget! Here are some of the real reasons that I try to get a massage several times a year even on Read more [...]

Eating healthy with Carissa from Carissamiss.com + $100 Meal Plan Giveaway

But that is not what we are going to talk about today. Carissa is guest posting to share with us the meal plan that has changed her life. A lucky reader is going to Read more [...]

(Free printable available from The Domestic Heart) This year has been so incredible busy and I have been blessed with amazing opportunities! When I saw the prompt from SITS Girls to blog about 10 Things I am Grateful For, I just had to join in. Thanksgiving is still two months away, but it is so important to have gratitude in our hearts all year long. As I wrote my list, I was reminded that there are many more things than ten that I have to be grateful for. So here is just a snipped of the gratitude Read more [...]

Vacation Essentials for Children with Eczema

Last summer I learned how important it is to pack the right products on vacation for a child who has eczema. On a week-long vacation to Bear Lake, Utah, my daughter's eczema flared up with a vengeance possibly due to the sunscreen, bug spray, generic soaps, etc. that we applied to her each day. Instead of protecting her skin, the products may have caused her skin to become even more sensitive and raw. Bear Lake is a small, vacation town with a general store not quite stocked with eczema essentials. Read more [...]

This year my husband and I have been focusing more on our health. More visits to personal trainers, more fruits and veggies, more water - the works. We've had some great small successes, but we have still have a long way to go! I recently had the chance to learn more about the Weigh to Health Program from Intermountain Healthcare. I spent the evening with a nutritionist and trainer getting excited about small changes that will make a big difference in my family's health and wellness.                                         The Read more [...]
